Breastfeeding information

Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for your baby. The composition of breast milk always offers your baby the ideal combination of nutrients and good protection against allergies and diseases. The WHO therefore recommends breastfeeding exclusively for 6 months and then continuing to breastfeed in conjunction with age-appropriate and balanced complementary food. Find out from your healthcare professionals (e.g. pediatrician, mother-father counseling, midwife, breastfeeding advisor) if your child needs supplementary food or if they cannot be (sufficiently) breastfed. The use of infant formula can impair breastfeeding success. The decision not to breastfeed is difficult to reverse. Further information
