We are Eva and David – both parents and, since January 2026, the managing directors of Löwenzahn Organics. Together, we want to rethink baby food so that families can live freely and independently.

How Löwenzahn Organics came to be: Many mothers have a strong desire to breastfeed their child later, even over 90%* – and they start doing so after birth. However, the breastfeeding relationship often ends earlier than planned. While breastfeeding is natural, it is not always a given, always possible, or always desired. And that makes our work so important.

In the first 1,000 days – from conception until their second birthday – a human being is more impressionable than at any other time in their life. That's why we expect optimal nutrient composition in organic quality from baby food and food for mothers. Furthermore, it should be produced ecologically and fairly and developed according to the latest scientific findings.

From idea to product

Since 2016, we at Löwenzahn Organics have been developing and producing modern organic products that optimally support the nutrition of mothers and their babies in the first 1,000 days. Together with nutritionists in our team, we have been focusing on baby food with the highest standards from the very beginning – exactly as we would love to feed it to our own children.

For our first child, I worked full-time, and my husband took 100% care of our daughter, Juli. Whenever I was there, I breastfed, but when I wasn't, my husband fed her Löwenzahn Pre-full milk. Of course, we would have preferred to exclusively breastfeed Juli, as it's simply the best option for the child. But the second-best option, combined with equality and relaxed dad-time, felt even better.

We know what moves parents

We, Eva and David, as well as most of the Löwenzahn Organics employees, are parents of small children ourselves and understand the needs of mothers and fathers very well.
Of course, we didn't really know what to expect on this journey at first. We encountered many guides and well-intentioned advice on what we, as parents, should or shouldn't do. We soon realized that, in addition to the great joy of having a baby, mothers and fathers also face many challenges, both physically and emotionally. Parenthood is unique: it brings love and joy, but it is also demanding and requires a lot, every day.

Parents need trust and understanding

We are convinced that parents know best what their family needs. What parents don't need, however, is to have to justify themselves in the sense of an outdated idealization of parenthood and to be questioned about every decision they make.

This starts with the decision of how or what to feed. There are always discussions about breastfeeding in public, formula in bottles, or pumping milk. We believe that every mother and father should decide for themselves how they feed – and without judgment or even criticism from others.

Unfortunately, mothers in particular are often invisible. Their needs? Hardly ever discussed. Their health? Rarely in focus. Whether it's invisible care work, a lack of information in the healthcare system, loneliness in the postpartum period, or the rocky return to work. Too often, mothers are left to fend for themselves.

We are convinced that a healthy gut makes the most important contribution to determining the physical and mental development of newborns. Our organic milk formula and complementary food products are tailored to the needs of babies. The recipes are designed according to current scientific findings. With innovations such as baby milk from whole milk powder, we have expanded our range to be able to supply more babies with suitable milk formula.

Products for Lion Mamas

The Organic Energy Balls for breastfeeding mothers are our first products for mothers. The energy balls help with the body's own production of breast milk and provide plenty of power to meet the increased energy demand.

Why do other manufacturers and the food industry so often disregard the health needs, problems, and nutrition of mothers? We want to change that. That's why we are working hard to expand our Löwenzahn Organics range with innovative organic products for (expectant) mothers and their needs.

Strong as a lion from the start

Especially during the first 1,000 days, proper nutrition plays a key role in the positive development of babies and young children. For all our products, we rely on particularly high-quality raw materials and their optimal composition. We only use ingredients for our products that have a positive effect on the baby's well-being - we do without everything unnecessary.

Why Organic?

For us, being able to offer organic products with the best possible nutrient composition also means:

Certification according to the EU Organic Regulation ensures more animal-friendly husbandry and prohibits the use of preventive antibiotics.

That is not enough for us.

“The EU requirements for nutrient compositions for baby food are not sufficient for us. The fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is mandated by the EU – but not the fatty acid arachidonic acid (ARA). Both are significantly important for the normal development of the immune system in a 1:1 ratio. We add DHA and ARA to our formula. In doing so, we follow the recommendations of the Nutrition Commission of the German Society for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine 2020.

Why are LCPs like DHA and ARA so important in baby formula?

Sustainable cultivation

We want to treat the Earth we live on responsibly. Because how we treat our environment today is how we will leave it to our children, with ecological consequences.

That's why we use algae oil instead of fish oil in our infant formula as a source of DHA and only organic and RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil for our original infant formula. We want to support neither overfishing of the oceans nor deforestation.

In addition to numerous analyses in the production facilities, our philosophy includes independent and additional laboratory tests in which we analyze our entire range for all harmful substances such as mineral oils, pesticides or mycotoxins.

Every production tested: Our baby food is tested.

Where do the ingredients for my product come from?

Thanks to the Transparency Code on each package, you can find out here where our raw materials come from.

All our products are manufactured in Europe. Our infant formula is produced in Austria, the organic baby porridge and organic energy bites in Denmark, and the organic bone broth in Germany.
