Psst... So far only our original first infant (pre) milk has been tested by Stiftung Warentest and named the test winner. The others have not yet been tested. We are eagerly awaiting further reviews.

Why do we have more than one formula?
Every baby tummy is different. We also follow current scientific studies on the subject of infant formula and take feedback from customers extremely seriously. That's why we have developed two more varieties after our original baby formula. The recipes respond to current study results about infant formula and customer wishes.
We have a total of three types of organic baby formulas, each with a first infant (pre) milk for the period after birth and follow-on milk for the period after the 6th month.
Note: There is the really important WHO Baby Milk Code . In Germany it is used in such a way that manufacturers of baby milk are not allowed to talk about certain ingredients in pre milk. This would be considered advertising. Since breast milk is without a doubt always the best food for babies and breastfeeding is recommended until the 6th month, we would like to tell you a little more about our follow-on milk. |
What makes our milk formula different?
First of all: All of our Löwenzahn Organics baby formula powder contain important and legally required nutrients that your baby needs in the first 1,000 days. However, there are differences in the recipes.
Let's take a closer look at the differences between our follow-on milks in the following table:
A summarised overview of our entire range of baby milk: original, whole milk and Goat milk base :
Original
Löwenzahn Organics Original Organic Baby Formula is tailored to the needs of babies.

What do all of our follow-on formulas have in common?
For optimal development of your baby, all important nutrients are contained in all subsequent baby milk powders from Löwenzahn Organics. That's why we want to tell you more about the Löwenzahn Organics standards in our follow-up milk formula.
Omega 3 fatty acid (DHA) and Omega 6 fatty acid (ARA)
All of our follow-on baby formula contains DHA and ARA in a ratio of 1:1, as this ratio is very important for the optimal effect of both substances. DHA contributes to the development of visual skills in infants. DHA is legally required for infant formula and follow-on milk.
DHA from algae oil instead of fish oil
In Löwenzahn Organics baby formula, algae oil is always the source of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA. Other baby milk manufacturers often use fish oil as a source of DHA. We use algae oil to avoid the allergen in fish oil and to protect the oceans. In addition, our baby milk has no fishy smell or taste.
Milk proteins for growth and digestion
The main component of follow-on baby formula powder is animal milk powder. Either it is skimmed milk powder, which is used in our original baby formula, or whole milk powder, which we use in our whole milk baby formula and goat milk-based baby formula.
In general, milk powder contains important proteins that are important for the growth and digestion of babies. The protein content of our follow-on milk formula is up to 1.5 grams per 100 milliliters.
Attention, we not only attach great importance to the content, but also to the composition of the proteins. In Löwenzahn Organics follow-on baby formula, the ratio of casein and whey protein is adjusted to the age-related needs of babies.
The ratio of whey protein to casein differs between follow-on milk and infant milk. In our follow-on milk the ratio is 50:50 and toddlers's milk is 30:70.
A clear outlier is the follow-up baby formula based on whole goat milk powder. It has the whey protein to casein ratio of 20:80, which is naturally present in goat's milk.
Vitamins and minerals for important metabolic functions
Vitamins such as vitamin D and minerals such as calcium are also contained in Löwenzahn Organics follow-on milk formula. Vitamins and minerals are important for the function of the immune system and support the growth and bone development of children.
Comparison of our follow-on milk
Löwenzahn Organics has a total of three types of organic baby formula in its range. Each range of baby formula - 'Original', 'Whole Milk' and 'Goat's Milk Base' - each has a first infant (pre) milk and at least one follow-up milk. We have compared our follow-on milk directly for you.
The biggest difference between each formula is the animal milk source . Our Original is based on cow skimmed milk powder. In contrast, our whole milk is based on whole cow's milk powder and our goat's milk base is on whole goat's milk powder. Both types of whole milk powder do not contain palm oil. Good to know: All milk powders have the same fat content, but the quality of the fats differs.
Löwenzahn Organics Follow-On Milk 6+
All Löwenzahn Organics follow-on milks 6+ are suitable for your baby after the 6th month or from the 7th month. The individual follow-on milks differ in the animal milk source and the additional nutrients.
Whole cow's milk powder is very similar to breast milk in its fatty acid composition. That's why our follow-up baby formula made from whole cow's milk is less processed and contains no palm oil or other tropical oils. In addition, based on current scientific studies, it contains even more nutrients. These include prebiotic bio-FOS, Nucleotides (building blocks of DNA) and taurine (important for fat absorption) .
Follow-up milk based on goat's milk is suitable for sensitive tummies because it is easy to digest. The proteins and fats in whole goat milk powder are structured differently compared to those in cow's milk. Since our follow-up baby milk based on goat's milk also consists of whole milk, all of the milk's own fats are retained and no palm oil or other tropical oils are added.
Starch is a valuable source of energy and can be contained in follow-on milk. For parents who want to avoid starch in their baby's diet, we offer our iron, calcium and iodine-rich follow-on milk made from whole cow's milk powder.
Löwenzahn Organics follow-on milk 10+ and toddler's follow-on milk
The original follow-on milk 10+ and the toddler's follow-on milk are both ideal for children from the first year of life. The Original 10+ is also suitable for babies after the 10th month.
The Original 10+ follow-on milk is based on skimmed milk powder and the whole milk for children is based on whole milk powder. The whole milk also contains 10+ additional nutrients compared to the original.
